Who are we?

news item

Two Wheels Better was founded in 2006 by a group of active motorcyclists in Oxfordshire who were concerned that there was a lack of research into the BIG QUESTIONS affecting motorcycling in the UK. Safety is a major concern and we will be asking some very searching questions about this emotive subject. However, we’re also keen to explode some of the myths surrounding motorcycling. We have produced several framework reports, which outline areas of interest to us and our initial findings.

Motorcycle casualties - are local authorities taking the myth? We ask whether councils should discount motorcycling as too “dangerous” when the majority of accidents affect leisure riders, not commuters.

Does traffic calming spell danger for motorcyclists? We examine the implications and potential hazards of traffic calming on motorcyclists.

Which roads take the rap? We analyse the Euro Rap report and ask why different types of road prove dangerous for cars and bikes.
